Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 August 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website SelfGuardPro.life and your participation in self-defence training programs offered by SelfGuard Pro at 22 Keong Saik Road, #04-06, Singapore 089128. By using our website, submitting an enquiry, or enrolling in a program, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services described

SelfGuard Pro provides instructional self-defence courses and related briefings for adults. We are an education provider, not a security agency, law firm, or medical service. Our instructors teach physical skills and awareness concepts; they do not guarantee outcomes in real-world confrontations and do not provide personal protection escorts unless explicitly agreed in a separate written contract for corporate events.

2. Eligibility and enrolment

Participants in standard adult programs must be at least eighteen years old. You agree to provide accurate contact information and to disclose relevant health conditions on our registration questionnaire. We may decline or postpone enrolment if we reasonably believe training would pose undue risk to you or others. Enrolment is confirmed only after we acknowledge your place and receive payment according to instructions sent by email.

3. Fees and payment

Published fees on our schedule page apply unless a written quote states otherwise. Prices may change for future intakes; confirmed enrolments honour the fee quoted at the time of confirmation. Payment methods and deadlines will be specified in your enrolment email. Late payment may result in forfeiture of your reserved place.

4. Cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds

Cancellation and credit rules are published on our schedule page and form part of these Terms. In summary: cancellations more than seven days before an intake start date may receive a refund minus an administrative fee; late cancellations may receive studio credit instead of cash refunds; no-shows without notice are not refunded. We may cancel or reschedule a class due to instructor illness, facility issues, or safety concerns; in such cases you will be offered a replacement session or pro-rata credit.

Transferring your place to another person requires our written approval and completion of that person's health questionnaire before the first session. We do not permit resale of enrolments on third-party marketplaces. Corporate bookings may include named delegate swaps if notice is given at least forty-eight hours before the session.

5. Studio rules and conduct

Students must follow instructor directions, respect partners, and stop immediately when asked. Prohibited conduct includes intoxication, harassment, discriminatory language, unsanctioned sparring, and recording other participants without consent. We may remove a student without refund for serious or repeated breaches that endanger others or disrupt learning.

Mobile phones should be silenced during drills. Photography in changing areas is never permitted. Personal belongings may be stored in lockers; SelfGuard Pro is not responsible for valuables left unsecured in common areas. Report lost items to the desk within twenty-four hours.

Partners rotate regularly to expose you to different body sizes and reach. You may skip a rotation once per session for injury or comfort reasons without penalty. Persistent refusal to partner without medical basis may limit your progression in contact-heavy modules.

6. Assumption of risk and health

Physical training carries inherent risks including muscle strains, bruises, and, in rare cases, more serious injury. You participate voluntarily and confirm that you are fit enough for moderate exercise or have obtained appropriate medical advice. You must inform instructors of changes in health status that affect training. You are responsible for arriving adequately hydrated, wearing suitable clothing, and removing jewellery that could cause injury.

Pregnant students should consult a medical professional before enrolling and must notify us before any contact module. We may recommend private sessions or deferred start dates. Students recovering from surgery require written clearance describing permitted movement ranges.

Protective equipment we supply is inspected regularly, but you must speak up if padding feels compromised. Report any injury during class immediately so first aid can be administered and an incident note recorded.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, SelfGuard Pro and its instructors, staff, and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the website or participation in programs. Our total liability for any claim relating to a confirmed enrolment is limited to the fees you paid for that enrolment. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence where such exclusion is not permitted by law, or for fraud.

You agree that self-defence instruction cannot eliminate risk in public spaces. Skills practised in a studio may not be available to you under surprise, environmental hazards, or weapons threats not covered in your program tier. We document these limitations in class and on the website to set realistic expectations consistent with advertising standards.

8. Intellectual property

Course materials, syllabi, branding, and website content are owned by SelfGuard Pro or licensed to us. You may not record, reproduce, or distribute class content commercially without written permission. Personal note-taking for your own revision is welcome.

9. Website use

You agree not to misuse our website — including attempting unauthorised access, introducing malware, scraping content for competing commercial use, or submitting false enquiries. Content on the site is for general information; we may update program details without notice. External links are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.

10. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution of disputes by contacting [email protected] before pursuing formal proceedings. If litigation is necessary, the courts of Singapore shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the website or attendance after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms for new interactions. Enrolments already confirmed remain subject to the Terms in effect at confirmation unless we notify you of a material change affecting safety or fees.

13. Force majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events outside reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemic restrictions, utility failures, or government orders that prevent studio access. We will offer rescheduled sessions or credits where possible when such events affect confirmed classes.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. The unenforceable provision will be modified only to the extent necessary to make it valid.

15. Photography and testimonials

We may photograph open-house events or graduations for website use. Participation is optional and requires separate verbal consent on the day. We do not publish surnames of students without written approval. If you prefer not to appear in any imagery, inform the front desk before entering the training floor.
